Cleanliness is Next to Godliness...

Posted by Jennifer Compton on Friday, April 15, 2011, In : Soap Notes!
People are unconsciously fairer and more generous when they are in clean-smelling environments, according to a soon-to-be published study led by a Brigham Young University professor.

Why Not? It seems as though people are so quick to dismiss our senses especially our sense of smell. This is a fantastic article that talks of the research study led by a Brigham Young University professor.
“Basically, our study shows that morality and c...

with no harmful petro-carbon soot to fill your lungs or get on your walls.
With no flame you avoid many dangers and hazards associated with fires.

2. You can choose to mix different scents to create a custom scent of your own. We recommend buying four,  2 oz. tarts OR get two, 4 oz. tarts for for mixing in jars on

Candle History

Posted by Jennifer Compton on Saturday, March 5, 2011, In : Soybean Candles
Candles have cast a light on man's progress for centuries. However, there is very little known about the origin of candles. Although it is often written that the first candles were developed by the Ancient Egyptians who used rushlights, or torches, made by soaking the pithy core of reeds in molten tallow, the rushlights had no wick like a candle. It is the Romans who are credited with developing the wick candle, using it to aid travelers at dark, and lighting homes and places of worship at ni...

Soy Vs. Paraffin... the stand OFF!

Posted by Jennifer Compton on Thursday, March 3, 2011, In : Soybean Candles

Eco Friendly and Health Conscience

Many people prefer soy candles over paraffin because they are 100% natural. Paraffin candles contain more than 11 carcinogenic compounds, which are not only harmful to the environment but also harmful to the body. This is visually evident in the black soot around the candle jar. Soy candles are nontoxic and do not emit any petrol-carbon soot, which can blacken walls and add toxic carcinogens to the body. For the eco-conscious, soy candles are a...

Your Soap May NOT be 100% SOAP!

Posted by Jennifer Compton on Wednesday, March 2, 2011, In : Soap Notes!
How many people know what soap really is? Several of the cleansing bars that you buy at the store, for example, are detergents-and not soaps at all. On the other hand, true soap is made from natural oils (such as olive, coconut) and is a gentle cleansing product more appropriate for use on skin than...

Art to Burning a Candle?

Posted by Jennifer Compton on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, In : Tips & Tricks
What is the 'Art' to burning a candle?

Few things are as captivating as the soft light and the glow of a candle. Even a candle has a science to it...there is actually an art to burning a candle properly and safely. You can generally tell if a candle is burning properly just by looking at it:

·         Having steady, calm flames means that the candle’s burning process is in balance. The wick is efficiently pulling up the right amount of wax, which is then being “consumed” by the flame t...
